AKI’s Poona Institute of Management Sciences and Entrepreneurship (PIMSE) commenced its Induction Programme for the newly inducted First Year MBA, MBA-IT and MBA-HRD students with an inspiring Inauguration Ceremony on 23rd September 2026.
The Induction was honoured by the presence of Ms. Prameela Kalive, Founder, Starfish Global, as the Chief Guest of the Inauguration Ceremony.
The programme commenced with a warm Welcome Address and Felicitation of the Chief Guest by Director (In-charge), Prof. Dr. Porinita Banerjee, who extended a gracious welcome to Ms. Kalive and the newly inducted students.
Ms. Kalive’s energetic and interactive address set a positive tone for the students as they began their academic journey. She shared glimpses of her personal journey and bucket list, including adventurous experiences such as bungee jumping, scuba diving and paragliding. When students described her as adventurous, she added another quality that has shaped her journey — curiosity.
She encouraged students to remain curious, open to learning and willing to explore new experiences. She also shared her memorable experience of having had the opportunity to work with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, giving students an insight into the diverse experiences that can shape a professional journey.
A key message of her interaction was the importance of stepping outside one’s comfort zone. She encouraged students to turn their aspirations into experiences and take action rather than simply keeping their dreams on paper.
Addressing the students, particularly the female students, Ms. Kalive emphasised the importance of confidence and self-belief in the corporate world. Drawing from her own experiences of working in predominantly male teams, she encouraged students not to allow their surroundings to limit their ambitions.
She also highlighted the importance of positive self-talk while facing fear or uncertainty, encouraging students to act with confidence, embrace challenges and gradually grow.
The interactive Q&A session added a warm and personal touch to the interaction. Her address encouraged students to embrace curiosity, courage, confidence and self-belief, while experiencing life beyond their comfort zones.
