Program Highlights

Effective communication is more than speaking well—it is about connecting with an audience, expressing ideas with confidence, listening actively and inspiring others.

AKI’s Poona Institute of Management Sciences and Entrepreneurship (PIMSE) hosted the Toastmasters International Humorous Speech Contest (HSC) and Evaluation Speech Contest (ESC), offering students an opportunity to witness the art of public speaking and leadership in action.

The Humorous Speech Contest showcased the power of humour, storytelling and stage presence. Through creative narratives and relatable experiences, contestants demonstrated how humour can make communication engaging, memorable and impactful.
The Evaluation Speech Contest highlighted the importance of attentive listening, critical thinking and constructive feedback. Contestants demonstrated how to analyse speeches, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and communicate their observations effectively.
Celebrating Excellence: The winners of the Humorous Speech Contest and Evaluation Speech Contest were felicitated in recognition of their achievements and outstanding performances.

For PIMSE students, witnessing these contests was an opportunity to understand how communication, confidence, creativity and analytical thinking translate into real-world professional skills. The initiative also encouraged prospective students who had previously interacted with PIMSE to experience a live Toastmasters contest and explore opportunities for personal and professional growth beyond the classroom.

PIMSE extends its sincere gratitude to the Toastmasters representatives, contestants, judges and contest officials for their valuable contribution in making the event an enriching learning experience.

At PIMSE, learning goes beyond textbooks. Experiences like these reinforce our commitment to nurturing confident communicators, thoughtful leaders and future-ready management professionals.
