Cleanliness Awareness Drive & Institute Neighbourhood Plastic Campaign Audit

On 5th June, 2025, in observance of World Environment Day and in light of the upcoming Bakri Eid, the Social Cell of PIMSE conducted a meaningful Cleanliness Awareness Drive along with a Neighbourhood Plastic Campaign Audit. The initiative was held under the leadership of Dr. Porinita Banerjee (Director In-Charge) and coordinated by Dr. Anjum Sayyad and Mr. Mohd Talha Ahmad.
The dual-purpose campaign aimed to sensitize the community about proper waste management, reduction of plastic use and the significance of environmental hygiene during festive times.
Key Highlights of the Initiative:
Eco-Friendly Pamphlet Distribution: Awareness materials on responsible waste disposal during daily routines and festivals were distributed to residents.
Plastic Usage and Cleanliness Audit: A detailed Institute-Neighbourhood Plastic Campaign Audit was conducted to evaluate the prevalence of single-use plastics at the household level.
Distribution of eco-friendly carry Bags: Environmentally conscious alternatives like eco-friendly carry bags were distributed to encourage plastic-free living.
Community Engagement & Awareness: Residents received on-the-spot guidance on minimizing plastic use and adopting sustainable habits.
The event received enthusiastic participation and appreciation from the local community, further reinforcing PIMSE’s commitment to sustainability, community well-being and responsible celebration practices.
