Program Highlights
The MBA students of PIMSE had an enriching industrial visit to Alfa Laval, Pune, designed to provide hands-on exposure to modern manufacturing and operational practices. The visit began with essential safety formalities, during which students were briefed about safety guidelines and provided with safety shoes before entering the facility.
The team was warmly welcomed by Mr. Shashikant Kumar (HRBP – Operations, India), who introduced the students to Alfa Laval’s work culture, operational excellence, and commitment to innovation. This was followed by an informative PPT presentation by Mr. Abhijeet Ubarhande, which offered a detailed overview of the company’s global presence, key product segments, and advanced technologies.
Students then proceeded for the plant tour, observing manufacturing processes related to heat transfer, separation, and fluid-handling systems. The tour helped them understand real-time industrial workflows, quality assurance mechanisms, and the engineering precision behind Alfa Laval’s world-class solutions.
The students were accompanied by Dr. Porinita Banerjee (Director, PIMSE), Dr. Vasimraja Sayed, and Mrs. Lubna Shaikh, who guided and supported them throughout the visit. The Alfa Laval team extended gracious hospitality by arranging lunch for all participants, making the experience even more memorable.
Overall, the visit provided valuable practical insights, helping students connect academic learning with real-world industrial applications.
