Under the initiative of Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Poona Institute of Management Sciences and Entrepreneurship, The Placement Team at PIMSE organized an Industrial Visit at SIL Factory (Scandic Foods Pvt. Ltd. On 12th April 2019.The purpose of Industrial visit to SIL factory was to gain practical insights into the functioning of a sustainable industrial unit and to understand the production processes and management systems. Upon arrival at the factory, the students were welcomed by the production manager and given a brief overview of the company's history, vision, and mission. The manager then took the students on a tour of the factory, where they were able to observe the various stages of the production process.
The factory primarily produced various products, and the students were able to witness the entire process, from the raw material stage to the finished product stage. The students were able to observe the machines used for cutting, shaping, and assembling the components of the products. They were also able to understand the importance of quality control measures and safety protocols in the factory.
After the tour, the students were given a presentation on the management systems and processes used by the company to ensure efficient and effective operations. The presentation covered topics such as supply chain management, inventory control, and production planning. The students were able to understand the importance of effective management systems in ensuring smooth and efficient operations in the factory.
In conclusion, the visit to the SIL factory in Pune was a success. The visit provided the students with practical insights into the functioning of a sustainable manufacturing unit and helped them understand the production processes and management systems. The students were impressed by the company's commitment to sustainability and were able to understand the importance of sustainable practices in the manufacturing sector. The visit was an excellent opportunity for the students to apply their classroom learning to real-world situations and gain valuable insights into the functioning of a sustainable manufacturing unit.
