The Poona Institute of Management Sciences and Entrepreneurship organized a Newspaper Reading Competition on 09th December 2024 with the objective of promoting reading habits, awareness of current affairs, and improving articulation among students. The event attracted participants from various programs who showcased their oratory skills and awareness by reading and analyzing selected news articles from leading national dailies.
Participants were judged based on pronunciation, fluency, clarity, voice modulation, and their ability to comprehend and explain the context of the news. The articles covered diverse domains such as politics, economics, technology, and global events. The competition not only helped students enhance their communication skills but also emphasized the importance of staying informed in today’s fast-paced world.
The event concluded with remarks by faculty coordinators who appreciated the students’ active involvement and highlighted the role of reading in academic and personal development. Winners were awarded certificates of merit, and all participants received appreciation for their efforts. The competition proved to be a successful and enriching experience, encouraging a habit of informed reading among the students.
