Poona Institute of Management Sciences and Entrepreneurship successfully organized a Skill Development Session covering the topics of Soft Skills and Event Management on 27th April 2026 with the objective of enhancing student’s professional competencies and practical knowledge. The session aimed to create awareness about the importance of personal and managerial skills required in today’s competitive academic and professional environment. A total of 97 students attended the session enthusiastically and actively participated in the learning activities.
Under the Soft Skills segment, students were guided on essential areas such as communication skills, personality development, teamwork, leadership qualities, time management, problem-solving, and confidence building. The Event Management segment focused on introducing students to the fundamentals of planning, organizing, coordinating, budgeting, promotion, and successful execution of events. Practical examples and interactive discussions helped students understand the real-world application of these concepts.
Overall, the session proved to be highly informative and beneficial. It encouraged students to improve their interpersonal abilities and managerial understanding, which are essential for career growth and employability. The program also motivated students to develop a professional mindset and explore opportunities in the dynamic field of event management. Faculty member Dr. Lionel John Dmello was the speaker for the session, and the event was coordinated by Mrs. Misba Kadri and Mr. Amir Hamza Sayyed.
