International Yoga week Day 1: Introduction to Yoga
International Yoga Day is around the corner and it’s time to rejoice, re-energize, and rejuvenate again. Yoga is the Journey of the self, through the self, to the self!
Yoga plays a pivotal role for promoting sustainable lifestyle in harmony with planet Earth. In keeping with this spirit, the theme for this year’s Yoga Day celebrations is “Yoga for Humanity.”
We, at PIMSE have embarked on a 5 days journey to experience the true essence of Yoga with the elder senior citizens residing within the vicinity of our Institute at Prem Niwas (Old Age Home)
Theme for Day 1: Introduction to Yoga
Our students started by practicing Sukshma Yoga, Yogic Jogging and a few light Asanas to unite the body with the soul so as to achieve the perfect synchronization between them.
The deeply rooted spiritualism in yoga will help us in attaining a sense of divine peace which will assist us in connecting to ourselves by eliminating any negative energy from our bodies.
Yoga increases physical, emotional and spiritual wellness thereby leading towards mental peace. Also, several scientific studies have shown that Yoga assists in reducing blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, oxidative stress, psychological stress and various other ailments which have become very common nowadays, especially among the aged people.
