AKI’s Poona Institute of Management Sciences and Entrepreneurship (PIMSE), Pune, organized an industry-oriented certification programme titled “Beyond Dashboards: Turning Data into Powerful Stories” to equip students with practical skills in data analytics, business intelligence, visualization, and storytelling for today’s data-driven business environment.The programme was conducted by Mr. Austin, an alumnus of PIMSE, currently working as a Data Analyst at Western Union.
The programme covered the end-to-end development of business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI, including data preparation, transformation, modelling, interactive dashboard creation, visualization techniques, and dashboard design principles.
Students learned DAX, advanced analytics, business performance analysis, data storytelling, and professional report sharing through PDF and PowerPoint. The programme also included hands-on portfolio dashboard development, project documentation and showcasing through GitHub and LinkedIn, along with an examination revision session to reinforce key concepts.
Overall, the programme combined technical learning with practical application, analytical thinking, and professional development. It encouraged students to move beyond conventional dashboards and transform raw data into meaningful insights and compelling business stories, strengthening their readiness for contemporary managerial and analytical roles.
