AKI’s Poona Institute of Management Sciences and Entrepreneurship (PIMSE) celebrated International Women’s Day on 6th March 2026 under the guidance of Director (In-charge), Dr. Porinita Banerjee. The celebration was based on the theme “Give to Gain,” highlighting the importance of empowerment, contribution, and collective growth.
The event was graced by Shantabai Balu Pawar, popularly known as “Warrior Aaji” and Ms. Masarrat Tavawalla, Co-Founder and Director of Sunderjis Global Academia. Ms Masarrat Tavawalla shared valuable insights from her extensive experience in the field of education and inclusion, emphasizing the importance of creating supportive and inclusive learning environments.
A major highlight of the event was the inspiring Mardaani Khel martial arts performance by Shantabai Balu Pawar, who impressed the audience with her remarkable strength and skill at the age of 88. She also demonstrated the art along with Dr. Porinita Banerjee and faculty members, making the moment engaging and memorable for everyone present.
During the celebration, Dr. Porinita Banerjee, Director [Incharge] was felicitated by the male faculty members in recognition of her leadership. Women faculty, staff members, and female students were also felicitated for their valuable contributions and achievements.
The event also included a musical performance by students, which added enthusiasm and vibrancy to the celebration. The program was a memorable occasion that celebrated the strength, resilience, and achievements of women while reinforcing the spirit of the theme “Give to Gain.”
