Projects are the backbone of innovation and progress in today’s business world, especially in the realm of Information Technology, where they serve as a means to solve complex problems, enhance operational efficiency, and drive organizational growth. Understanding how to craft impactful IT projects—transforming an initial idea into a successful execution—is essential for MBA-IT students preparing to lead in this dynamic field. On 1st February 2025, Dr. Shabib Ahmed delivered a guest lecture on the topic “Crafting Impactful IT Projects: From Concepts to Execution”, focusing on the process of crafting IT projects that deliver lasting value.

He outlined the importance of aligning project goals with broader business objectives, ensuring that each project has a clear vision and purpose. Dr. Ahmed also introduced key methodologies, such as Agile and Waterfall, explaining how to choose the right approach based on the project's scope and complexity. The lecture delved into the essentials of project management, including effective risk management, resource planning, and time management, all of which are crucial for navigating the complexities of IT projects. Using real-world examples, he demonstrated how to tackle challenges and keep projects on track. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A where students were able to clarify their doubts and gain deeper insights into how to successfully manage IT projects in a fast-paced, ever-changing industry. Ultimately, the lecture provided students with the essential tools and knowledge to craft IT projects that make a meaningful impact and deliver value to organizations. The session was organized under the leadership of Dr. Porinita Banerjee, Director (Incharge) and conducted by Dr. Zarina Shaikh.
