International Women’s Day is a global occasion to celebrate the achievements of women and promote gender equality. To mark this significant day, Poona Institute of Management Sciences and Entrepreneurship (PIMSE), organized a felicitation ceremony for female police officers on 7th March,2025 at Lashkar Police Station to honor and recognize the invaluable contributions of women police officers. The event was aimed at recognizing the courage, dedication, and service of women in law enforcement, inspiring students, and fostering discussions on women's empowerment in policing.  

The program was graced by the presence of Dr. Porinita Banerjee, Director Incharge; Mr. Girish Kumar Dighavkar, Senior Police Officer; Mr. Pradeep Kumar Pawar, Police Inspector; Ms. Jyoti Kutte, Women Police Sub-Inspector; and Ms. Swati Bapat, Women Police Sub-Inspector. The event commenced with an insightful introductory speech by Dr. Payal Samdariya, Associate Professor at PIMSE, who highlighted the importance of Women’s Day and acknowledged the relentless efforts of women in law enforcement.  

Following the introduction, Dr. Porinita Banerjee felicitated all dignitaries, expressing appreciation for their support in fostering a culture of equality and empowerment. The highlight of the event was the felicitation of women police officers, recognizing their unwavering commitment, resilience, and dedication to maintaining law and order. The event also featured engaging discussions where officers shared their experiences, challenges, and aspirations in a male-dominated profession.  

The celebration successfully honored the strength and determination of women police officers, reaffirming their crucial role in ensuring safety and justice. The felicitation served as a token of appreciation and encouragement, inspiring future generations of women to pursue careers in law enforcement. The event concluded on a note of gratitude and motivation, reinforcing the significance of recognizing and supporting women in every sphere of society.
