visiting the National War Memorial, Southern Command.
On October 30th, 2023, students and faculty members from Poona Institute of Management Sciences And Entrepreneurship had the privilege of visiting the National War Memorial, Southern Command. This significant visit was a solemn opportunity for everyone to pay homage to the brave martyrs of post-Independence wars.
The National War Memorial Southern Command stands as a testament to the sacrifice and valor of the soldiers who laid down their lives for the nation. The memorial not only serves as a place of remembrance but also educates visitors about the military history of the Southern Command.
During the visit, students and faculty members explored the museum that houses an impressive collection of artifacts, including uniforms, ammunition, vehicles, tanks, and guns used by the Southern Command over the years. It was a remarkable experience to witness these historical items up close, providing us with a deep understanding of the military’s evolution and the challenges faced by our armed forces.
One of the highlights of the memorial was the display of a MiG-23BN aircraft, prominently featured as a reminder of the heroism exhibited during the Kargil War.
This visit left a lasting impression on all attendees, highlighting the importance of honoring our war heroes and preserving the legacy of their sacrifices. It was a day of reflection and gratitude, reminding us of the immense sacrifices made by our soldiers to safeguard our country.
